Holly Fishing Pool

Up until 2016 both the Holly and the Hazel were like the hidden gems at Boldings – nestled into the undergrowth, they were enjoyed by a small number of regular anglers, but untried by many, in favour of the larger, more established pools.

However, following extensive re-landscaping and re-stocking in 2016, these pools now offer a more scenic and open setting. This means that you can now enjoy the peace and tranquillity of being surrounded by rolling fields – while at the same time benefit from improved access, more space and better sport!  

The stocking program has resulted in both pools having predominantly high levels of ½ – 4lb carp and hybrids. These are accompanied by a variety of silvers and a number of larger rod bending (or elastic stretching!) bigger carp to ensure a busy and varied day’s fishing.

The Holly and the Hazel have, in recent years, become increasingly popular with pleasure anglers and small to medium sized clubs and groups. Both pools have eight nicely spaced pegs and as they neighbour each other, they have also found favour with slightly larger groups who are able to book both pools and still run one competitive and sociable match.
