Larch Fishing Pool
Surrounded by a beautiful mix of trees and bushes and dominated by a single oak tree overlooking its 28 pegs, the Larch pool has matured into a picturesque setting for a good days sport.
A number of central weed beds and plenty of reed mace along the margins make attractive holding spots for the high stocks of mainly carp (along with plenty of silvers and recently stocked barbel) including commons, mirrors, hybrids and ghosties.
Popular methods include sweetcorn or hooker pellet down the side over loose-fed pellets; hooker pellet or maggot up in the water by the weedbeds; or, popular with pleasure anglers targeting the bigger carp (including ghosties up to 18lb+), surface baits including bread or biscuit.
